How 2AZ Supplies Three GTA Yards From One Operation
Running one yard is complicated enough. Running three across the Greater Toronto Area — Mississauga, Brampton, and Pickering — with consistent stock, consistent pricing, and same-day availability on core products is a different kind of problem.
Most concrete suppliers in the GTA operate from a single location. You drive there, you pick up your materials, you drive back to the job site. If the yard is in Mississauga and your pour is in Ajax, that’s an hour each way. Multiply that by a few trips per week and you’ve burned an entire day just driving around the 401.
That’s the problem 2AZ was built to solve.
Why Three Locations
The GTA isn’t one market — it’s a string of cities stretched across 100+ kilometers of lakeshore. A contractor based in Pickering doesn’t want to drive to Mississauga for rebar. A crew in Brampton shouldn’t have to cross the city for concrete accessories.
Our three locations map to the three major construction corridors in the GTA:
Mississauga HQ — 3330 Ridgeway Dr, Unit 7 Serves the western GTA: Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington, Milton. This is our headquarters and main distribution hub. If it’s in our inventory, it’s here.
Brampton Yard — 2084 Steeles Ave E, Unit 1 Serves the central-north GTA: Brampton, Vaughan, Woodbridge, Caledon, north Mississauga. Brampton has been one of the fastest-growing construction markets in Ontario for the past five years. The amount of residential and commercial work happening north of Steeles is staggering. Having a yard right on the corridor means crews can grab materials on the way to site without detouring.
Pickering Depot — 1020 Brock Rd, Unit 5 Serves the eastern GTA: Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Scarborough east. The Durham Region is booming — new subdivisions, commercial plazas, and infrastructure projects are everywhere. Before we opened Pickering, eastern GTA contractors either drove to Mississauga or paid up at smaller local suppliers with limited stock.
How the Supply Chain Works
Centralized Purchasing
All purchasing is handled centrally. We don’t have three separate operations buying from three separate suppliers at three separate prices. One purchasing team negotiates with manufacturers and distributors for the entire operation. That buying power translates directly to better pricing for our customers.
When a supplier offers a volume discount on 15M rebar, we buy for all three yards at once. That’s three times the volume, which means a better price per ton, which means lower shelf prices across the board.
Hub-and-Spoke Distribution
Mississauga is the hub. Major shipments arrive there first. From Mississauga, we run daily transfers to Brampton and Pickering based on real stock levels and upcoming demand.
It’s not guesswork. If Pickering sells 40 sheets of wire mesh on Monday, Tuesday’s transfer truck has mesh on it. If Brampton is burning through concrete blankets in November, the restock happens before they run out — not after a contractor shows up to an empty shelf.
What’s Always In Stock
The core inventory that every concrete contractor needs on a daily basis is available at all three locations, every day:
- Rebar: 10M, 15M, 20M in standard 20-foot lengths
- Wire mesh: 6x6 W2.9/W2.9 in 4x8 sheets
- Concrete accessories: chairs, tie wire, snap ties, form oil, curing compound
- Forming supplies: stakes, braces, common lumber sizes
- Finishing tools: floats, trowels, edgers, groovers
- Safety and site supplies: caution tape, rebar caps, PPE
Specialty items — epoxy-coated rebar, large-diameter bars, custom mesh sizes, stamping tools — are stocked at Mississauga and available at the satellite yards within 24 hours.
Same-Day Availability
Here’s the promise: if a product is listed in our core inventory, it’s on the shelf at your closest yard right now. Not “we can order it.” Not “check back Thursday.” It’s there.
This matters because concrete contractors don’t plan two weeks ahead for consumables. You know you need 20 bags of chairs and 6 sheets of mesh tomorrow morning at 7 AM because the inspector just cleared your forms at 3 PM today. If your supplier can’t deliver on that timeline, you’re either scrambling or delaying the pour.
What This Means for GTA Contractors
Less Driving
The average GTA contractor spends 5–8 hours per week driving to and from suppliers. If your supplier is 15 minutes away instead of 45, that’s 2–3 hours per week back in your schedule. Over a season, that’s real money.
Consistent Pricing
Same price at all three locations. No surprises because you went to a different yard. Your account terms, pricing tier, and credit carry across all locations.
Backup Stock
If Brampton runs out of something unexpectedly, Mississauga or Pickering can cover. We’ll either transfer it overnight or direct you to the nearest yard that has it. You’re not stuck waiting for a backorder because one location had a busy week.
One Account, Three Yards
Open an account once. Use it at any location. Your purchase history, credit terms, and pricing are all in one system. At the end of the month, you get one statement — not three.
The Bigger Picture
2AZ isn’t just a supply yard. We operate five divisions that serve the concrete and construction industry across the GTA:
- Supplies — the concrete materials, accessories, tools, and consumables that keep your job moving
- Rentals — equipment you need for the job but don’t need to own: excavators, compactors, power trowels, vibrators, and more
- Ready-Mix — concrete delivery, batched to spec, delivered on time
- Bin Disposals — construction waste bins from 6-yard to 40-yard, delivered and picked up on your schedule
- Construction (Homecrete) — civil infrastructure and commercial concrete work, B2B
Having all five under one roof means a GTA contractor can source materials, rent equipment, order concrete, and book waste disposal from one company. One relationship, one phone call, one account.
The Numbers
Between the three locations, we turn over thousands of metric tons of rebar, hundreds of thousands of concrete accessories, and enough wire mesh to cover a few subdivisions every year. The operation runs six days a week. Most of our customers are repeat buyers — they come back because the material is always there and the pricing doesn’t change depending on who they talk to.
